From Raw Data to Automated ML Models – Enabling Data Science Teams to Do Data Science

Samantha Strapason Cvetkovski – Data Science Manager at MINDBODY, Inc.

Often times, Data Science teams are not performing data science or analytics, but spend a majority of their time cleaning and curating data. By the time the data is ready to use, the business is already onto the next problem. Data silos within companies are common, but often times analysts cannot even access the data they need. So what does it take, to take this raw, dirty data and transform it into a format that can be used to automate ML models that learn from the ingestion of new data?

    What will be covered?

    • Data creation and data governance working hand in hand
    • How ETL processes help create curated data that Business Intelligence and Data Science can use
    • How to enable Analysts to spend more time analyzing and less time pulling data
    • How to enable Data Scientists to leverage curated and uncurated data to build, test, iterate, and operationalize predictive AI/ML models
    • Getting data and insights into the hands of our business partners to help inform business decisions

This session will give you insight into how to manage the pipeline from engineers to analysts and data scientists to better enable your organization to do more data science.

    Hulu Originals Forecasting and Targeting

Robert Dumoulin – Data Science Marketing Lead at Hulu

Akhil Shah – Principal Data Scientist Lead at Hulu

In a competitive streaming landscape, Hulu Originals are an important differentiator of the Hulu brand and are both a strong acquisition play (bringing many new/former subs to Hulu) and retention play (subs who actively engage with Hulu Originals have significantly lower churn than those who don’t)

In this talk, we’ll provide an overview of how content forecasting (predicting how many subs will watch the show) and targeted marketing (predicting which subs will watch the show) are leveraged in order to maximize engagement with each Hulu Original

A deep dive into the Data Analytics Solutions in the Mobility World

Vijay Pravin Maharajan – Analytics Solutions Expert at Siemens

Our intelligent mobility platform, Railigent, serves as a platform for the customers and clients to have a look at how the future of mobility is shaping up! There are many use cases in the rail world where images or videos can be used as an unstructured data source. Just to name a few: Identify components that need maintenance and which part of the component exactly seems to have triggered maintenance. Energy Comparison and Consumption of the locomotives when the ecoCruise mode is ON or turned OFF. Monitor the number of passengers who get off a train and board a train and many more, with the help of our ecosystem.

This session will give you a lot of insights into the data analytics solutions, from engineers, data analysts, data visualization experts, and data scientists to enable your organization to do more data science and data analytics solutions.
